3G Coverage in the UK
3G coverage is being discontinued by network operators to release bandwidth on cell towers for new 4G and 5G services.
Vodafone and EE have committed to turning off 3G networks by 2023.
Oysta devices will remain fully capable of supporting continued communication after 3G disconnection.
Oysta telecare and lone worker devices are capable of sending and receiving data over 2G, and some over 4G and 5G. As a result, we will be unaffected by this change to the mobile communications infrastructure.
All mobile network operators in the UK have agreed that 2G will not be phased out until 2033, due to the essential services that use it.
